The City of Athens, represented by the Deputy Mayor for Technical Services, Municipal Property & Digital Governance, Panagiotis-Paris Charlaftis, is participating in the webinar “Open Government in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Where Are We Headed?”, held in the framework of Open Government Week 2026.
The online event, hosted by the City of Buenos Aires and the City of Bogotá, provides a dialogue space for political leaders and city representatives at the forefront of open government. Its objective is to foster an international conversation on emerging trends, shared challenges and opportunities at the intersection of local open government and artificial intelligence.
At a time when artificial intelligence is increasingly transforming the way public institutions generate information, design policies and engage with citizens, the principles of transparency, accountability, participation and responsible innovation are more important than ever.
The participation of the City of Athens in this international discussion highlights the city’s commitment to modern, open and human-centered digital governance, as well as to public policies that harness new technologies responsibly, reliably and in the service of citizens.
